Though not
a well established tradition by any means, penis enlargement operations and
even non-surgical options are widely discussed in the United States and abroad.
While part of the allure may be how this subject is somewhat taboo in American
society still, the tenor of this conversation is usually one of debate. On one
hand, advocates for male enhancement say it is people's right to modify their
bodies in a way they deem fit. On the other hand, health professionals and
protectors of the public interest decry the measure, taking it upon themselves
to alert the public about the perils of penile procedures. Certainly, both
arguments have their merits, but ultimately, people are urged to put their
priorities in the proper place before electing to go through with penis
enlargement.
Phalloplasty
Phalloplasty and
penis enlargement are often conflated when the latter is only one type of
surgery involving the penis. More broadly, phalloplasty deals as well with
operations to construct and reconstruct phalli. The most likely recipients are
female-to-male transsexuals and males who have had their penises removed.
Penis Enlargement Surgery
Penis enlargement surgery can be effective in augmenting penile length and/or width, but in the eyes of the majority, one has more to lose than to gain with it. Even after the surgery, patients may be dissatisfied with the results, and to boot, may suffer complications from the operation as well as a proverbial hit to their wallet.
