Baby Flatulence

Babies farting is usually worse than the farting of adults. Part of the reason that baby farting is louder, more pungent, and more frequent than the farting of an adult is due to differences in the gastrointestinal tract. The gastrointestinal tract of an adult is fully developed. However, baby farting is exacerbated when the infant is roughly seven weeks old because this is when the gastrointestinal tract begins to develop. Baby farting, then, is the outward evidence that the gastrointestinal tract of the baby farting is becoming mature.

There are many avenues available as a flatulence treatment. The two most common are the introduction of probiotics to the person's diet and the consumption of an artificial digestive enzyme.
