Plyometric Exercises

There are a variety of different plyometric exercises, all of which employ the use of quick and forceful movements to enhance and individuals speed and power. In order to achieve this, plyometrics exercises must be explosive, thereby frequently involving jumping, lunging, or bounding motions. Obstacles may or may not be used.

Plyometric Training

Plyometrics training focuses upon conditioning and training an individual's nerves, muscles, and tissues. When an individual frequently takes part in plyometric workout programs, his/her nerves will become used to initiating a specific type of muscle contraction following the stimulation of the sensory receptors. Therefore, plyometrics training can improve reaction time.

Plyometric Boxes

Plyometric boxes are commonly used during plyometric exercises. An individual may purchase a plyometric box and use it for a variety of different exercises. For example, plyo boxes are frequently used to improve and individual's power, by providing him/her a base to jump on to. The jump from the ground onto the box helps to enhance explosive power.
